Highlights of the Proceedings – December 3 Regular Session
During the 21st Regular Session of the 12th Sangguniang Panlungsod, the City Council will act on several franchise applications and road-closure measures, primarily related to public transportation routes and upcoming community and citywide events.
The Council will approve multiple Regulation Ordinances granting tricycle franchises across La Paz, Arevalo, Mandurriao, and City Proper districts. These franchises will formalize authorized routes under the Enhanced LPTRP and Regulation Ordinance 2024-116, ensuring that operators will comply with safety standards, fixed routes, and regulatory requirements set by the ICTMU and TTMO.
Several proposed ordinances will be deferred for further review, particularly those involving additional franchise applications for Routes MA-4, CP-1, and LU-2.
The Council will likewise approve a series of road-closure ordinances in support of major activities, including:
- Pamukaw sa Dinagyang (December 16, 2025),
- SP Christmas Party road closure (December 16, 2025),
- Juanrun–Funrun Season 3 (December 21, 2025),
- Barangay Delgado–Jalandoni–Bagumbayan Fiesta (December 6, 2025), and
- Nissan Fun Run 2025 (December 27, 2025).
All approved road closures will require TTMO-led traffic management plans, advance public information dissemination, and coordinated safety measures for participants and the general public.
Overall, the Session will reflect the Council's continued efforts to regulate local transport operations, support community celebrations, and ensure safe implementation of large-scale activities across the city.
